Lenovo Legion Go 2 with SteamOS coming this summer

Lenovo may have just released the Lenovo Legion Go 2 handheld PC last year, but the company is already set to deliver a new version of it. A Legion Go 2 with SteamOS is coming this June.

Lenovo revealed the SteamOS version of the Legion Go 2 at CES 2026 in Las Vegas. This new model features an 8.8-inch OLED display and is powered by the same AMD Ryzen Z2 Extreme chip found in the base Legion Go 2. However, the key difference lies in the operating system: this version runs on SteamOS.

While Lenovo’s original handheld operates on Windows 11, the introduction of SteamOS support will allow the Legion Go 2 to function similarly to Valve’s Steam Deck. SteamOS is a popular gaming-focused operating system and one of the main attractions of the Steam Deck.

In addition to the Steam Deck, Valve’s upcoming hardware, including the Steam Frame and Steam Machine, will also run on SteamOS. Notably, the Lenovo Legion Go S was the first non-Valve product to launch with SteamOS integration, marking Lenovo’s continued commitment to this platform.

With the SteamOS-powered Legion Go 2 arriving soon, Lenovo is positioning itself as a strong competitor in the handheld gaming market, offering gamers more choice and flexibility.
