Bartiromo to WSJ editor: Put my name in the paper

Fox Business anchor Maria Bartiromo has expressed frustration to Wall Street Journal editor-in-chief Emma Tucker over the paper’s failure to mention her when reporting on comments made during her show, according to Lachlan Cartwright of Breaker.

Cartwright reports that after Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent told Bartiromo on her program that China had agreed to purchase 12 million metric tons of American soybeans, a Journal news editor informed colleagues that a reporter was preparing to cover the remarks.

“‘Do me a favor and cite Maria, whatever her name is, or she complains to Emma,’” responded Chief Editor Jenna Telesca, hinting that Fox may need to better promote their so-called “$70 million woman” internally.

In another exchange among the breaking news staff, an editor asked, “Do we spell out Maria Bartiromo and her show name? I can’t remember or just show name.”

Telesca quickly replied within three minutes, “Please put her name in it. It is annoying, but saves us some grief.”

As it turns out, a quick review shows that Wall Street Journal reporters have indeed been giving Bartiromo prominent mentions in their coverage, ensuring she receives the recognition she seeks.
