WICHITA, Kan. (AP) — Karon Boyd’s 22 points helped Wichita State dominate Eastern Kentucky 88-57 on Sunday.
Boyd was efficient from the field, shooting 9 for 13, including 4 for 8 from beyond the arc, to lead the Shockers (8-5). Will Berg contributed a double-double with 14 points and 12 rebounds. Brian Amuneke added 11 points, going 4 for 7 overall and 3 for 6 from three-point range.
For Eastern Kentucky (4-9), Montavious Myrick led the Colonels in scoring with 12 points and six rebounds. Turner Buttry chipped in 10 points and four assists, while Yvens Paul also scored 10 points.
Wichita State took control early in the game, securing the lead for good with 14:54 remaining in the first half. The Shockers led 44-18 at halftime, with Boyd already tallying 18 points.
In the second half, Wichita State extended its advantage to 56-23, sparked by an 8-0 run. Kenyon Giles contributed a team-high nine points during the half.
