UK Markets Plunged Into Fresh Volatility Amid Budget Jitters

UK markets experienced renewed volatility as speculation surrounding the upcoming budget increased uncertainty over the nation’s fiscal outlook.

Government bond yields surged, marking their largest jump since July. Meanwhile, both the pound and the FTSE 100 stock index declined sharply following overnight reports that Chancellor of the Exchequer Rachel Reeves was shelving plans to raise income tax.

However, these market movements eased after Bloomberg News revealed that the decision was influenced by improved UK economic forecasts.
