FORT COLLINS Platte River Power Authority will offer students interested in an electrical career a $6,000 scholarship. The annual $6,000 scholarship is offered through the Alltricity Foundation and applications are due by Jan. 30, 2026, a news release stated. The Platte River/Alltricity Foundation scholarship is named after Roy J. Rohla, who was the engineering manager and plant manager at Platte River’s Rawhide Energy Station during his 20-year career with the utility, the release stated. “Roy was a lifelong learner and encouraged his coworkers to pursue educational opportunities to enhance their skills and further their careers,” says Jason Frisbie, general manager and CEO of Platte River, in the release. “This scholarship enables his legacy to live on in the students who share his values.” Students applicants must be enrolled in a either a two-year or four-year higher education institution or be a graduating high school student. Applcants also must have a permanent home address within Platte River’s service region of Estes Park, Fort Collins, Longmont and Loveland. Students who apply for an Alltricity scholarship will be added to the National Electric Energy Career Jump Start Directory, which could lead to internships and employment opportunities, he release stated.
