Teenage Boy Fatally Shot in Drive-By Shooting at Southwest Side Burger King

CHICAGO (WLS) — A teenage boy was killed in a drive-by shooting inside a Burger King on Chicago’s Southwest Side Sunday evening, police reported.

The incident occurred just after 7 p.m. in the Archer Heights neighborhood, on the 4000-block of South Pulaski Road.

According to authorities, a Jeep SUV pulled up to the restaurant and someone inside the vehicle fired shots into the building. A 17-year-old boy inside the Burger King was struck in the head.

The victim was rushed to Mt. Sinai Hospital in critical condition, where he was later pronounced dead.

The driver of the SUV fled the scene in an unknown direction. No arrests have been made at this time.

Area One detectives are actively investigating the shooting. Police have not released further information regarding the incident.
