Vance tells Marines they’ll get paid despite ‘Schumer shutdown’

Vice President Vance on Saturday addressed members of the U.S. Marine Corps gathered at Camp Pendleton in California, assuring them that they will continue to receive pay despite the ongoing government shutdown.

Speaking alongside Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth and Second Lady Usha Vance, Vice President Vance delivered remarks at the Marine Corps’ 250th anniversary celebration.

“I bring greetings today from our commander in chief,” Vance said, emphasizing the administration’s commitment to supporting the troops during this challenging time.

The assurance provided a measure of relief to service members concerned about pay disruptions amid the government’s funding impasse.

The Marine Corps’ 250th anniversary event marked a significant milestone, bringing together service members and leaders to honor the legacy and dedication of the Corps throughout its history.
