MANILA, Philippines – Meralco averted another potential collapse and secured a 105-96 victory over Blackwater on Wednesday at the Smart Araneta Coliseum.
Chris Newsome led the charge with 22 points, while four other players also reached double figures, helping the Bolts bounce back after suffering back-to-back defeats to start the PBA Philippine Cup.
With this win, Meralco finally claimed its first victory in the season-opening conference, boosting their confidence moving forward.
