1974 Ford Bronco 3-Speed

This 1974 Ford Bronco was acquired by the seller in 2021 and subsequently refurbished by Tony Hale Customs of Las Cruces, New Mexico. The comprehensive restoration involved removing the body, stripping and refinishing both the body and frame in Bold Orange, and retrimming the interior in Parchment vinyl. Additional work included rewiring the truck, rebuilding the engine, replacing the clutch, pressure plate, steering box, as well as interior and exterior trim, and refreshing the transmission.

Under the hood, the Bronco is powered by a rebuilt 302ci V8 engine paired with a three-speed manual transmission and a dual-range transfer case. The truck is equipped with a limited-slip rear differential, power-assisted drum brakes, 15″ steel wheels, locking center hubs, a removable hardtop, an aluminum radiator, and a dual exhaust system featuring Borla Performance ProXS mufflers.

The refurbishment, carried out between 2022 and 2025, included removing the body from the frame, stripping the previous finish, and repairing rust before refinishing the truck in its striking Bold Orange color. According to the seller, the headlights, bumpers, windows, and rubber components were replaced, and a new rear window latch and strike plate were installed in preparation for sale.

The Bronco rides on white 15″ steel wheels wrapped in 235/75 Goodyear Trailrunner AT tires. Suspension upgrades include Bilstein shock absorbers and manually locking hubs, while braking is managed by power-assisted drums at each corner. The restoration work also involved adding a power brake booster, refinishing the wheels, and replacing the steering box, shock absorbers, brake components, and tires.

Inside, the front bucket seats and rear bench have been retrimmed in Parchment vinyl upholstery. Amenities include an AM radio (which operates intermittently), a rubber floor covering, and a functioning cabin heater. Additional interior refurbishment comprised replacing the heater box, rubber floor cover, window regulators, door handles, and knobs.

Instrumentation consists of a 100-mph speedometer accompanied by auxiliary gauges for amperage, fuel level, coolant temperature, and oil pressure. The five-digit odometer reads approximately 65,000 miles, with around 300 miles added during the current ownership.

This Bronco was originally listed on Bring a Trailer in August 2025 and is now being offered again with the owner’s manual, service records, spare parts, and a clean New Mexico title in the seller’s name.

Notable mechanical work since 2022 includes replacing the clutch and pressure plate, balancing the driveshafts, and refreshing the transmission—ensuring this classic off-road SUV remains reliable and ready for the road.
