‘People Feel I Am A Teacher, Have Stopped Giving Advice’: Mukti Mohan On Why Actors Are Not Responsible To Inspire People (Exclusive)

Mukti Mohan, actress known for her roles in *Life Hill Gayi*, *Gyaarah Gyaarah*, *Thar*, and *A Wedding Story*, is not just an accomplished performer but also a trained dancer. When it comes to promoting healthy living and nutrition, Mukti believes that actors and public figures should not be burdened with the responsibility of inspiring everyone.

“You can’t really inspire anyone; I feel that people need to be intrinsically self-motivated,” she says. Mukti often meets people who want to work on their bodies but struggle to stay consistent. She shares, “I remind them that they’re already doing so well and working so hard, and yet they’re pushing themselves to the point of exhaustion, sometimes even landing in the hospital.”

Due to her supportive nature, some people see her as a teacher. However, Mukti clarifies, “It’s just my genuine concern for those who want to achieve a lot but aren’t able to follow through.”

When asked about motivation, Mukti admits, “I’ve met many people who ask me how I stay motivated and for tips on how they can do the same. However, when I share advice, they often don’t follow it, so I’ve stopped giving advice.”

Now, she focuses on doing what works best for her. “If I’m working out, dancing, or doing yoga, I might share it on social media, but it’s not to inspire others. I’m not taking on the responsibility to inspire everyone.” She adds, “I do think my actions impact people and give them motivation, which is probably why they respond positively. But generally, I share my routine to keep myself on track.”

Mukti emphasizes that maintaining physical fitness is largely about nutrition. “I believe it’s a combination of 70% nutrition and 30% workout,” she explains. “More than half of what you do is what you eat.”

She follows certain dietary habits such as avoiding gluten and fruits after sunset, and prefers to eat her heaviest meal in the afternoon. “I’m one of those who can’t eat heavy in the morning. I need to have something light, like some juice or something, and then go for a run. After that, I come back to have a hearty meal.”

Her favorite heavy meal typically includes dishes like paratha and palak paneer. “I really enjoy everything. That’s my heavy meal of the day,” she adds.

Interestingly, Mukti has not followed any strict diet for her acting roles. “I’m general,” she says. “I’ve found that my energy levels are heightened when I focus on vegetables, fruits, and staying well-hydrated. I try to maintain this, especially when I’m dancing a lot.”

She also prefers consuming juices and liquids to avoid feeling weighed down by heavy food. “So, I primarily stick to vegetables and fruits.”

For specific roles, Mukti’s approach hasn’t drastically changed, except for *Thar*. “For *Thar*, I did a lot of sunbathing because I needed to be super tanned, and my skin loves a good tan. I really enjoyed getting that tan for the role,” she shares.

Mukti Mohan’s perspective highlights the importance of self-motivation and personalized routines when it comes to fitness and wellness, rather than relying on public figures for inspiration.
