Iran Says Deal with IAEA Hinges on Lack of Hostile Action, Including Sanctions Snapback
Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi has warned that Tehran will cancel its nuclear inspection deal if Western powers reimpose United Nations sanctions. This statement comes amid preparations by the UN Security Council to vote on the ‘snapback’ of sanctions against Iran.
Speaking on September 9, 2025, Araghchi emphasized that the continuation of the deal with the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) depends on the absence of hostile actions, including the reintroduction of UN sanctions.
As tensions mount, the international community closely watches the developments surrounding Iran’s nuclear program and the potential reinstatement of punitive measures.
