Mark Zuckerberg fumbles Meta Ray-Ban Display showcase at Connect 2025 keynote

Meta Connect 2025 kicked off with an exciting keynote today, where CEO Mark Zuckerberg unveiled the much-anticipated translucent Meta Ray-Ban Display glasses during a live demonstration.

While the glasses showcased impressive potential, the live demo did not go as smoothly as hoped. Zuckerberg chose to present the features live rather than playing it safe with a pre-recorded video. Unfortunately, during the showcase, he encountered technical difficulties—most notably being unable to answer a video call—which left him flustered and forced to cut that part of the demo short.

Despite the hiccups, attendees were treated to an initial glimpse of what the Meta Ray-Ban Display glasses have to offer. One of the standout features is the Meta Neural Band, which enables users to navigate the display and write messages using hand movements. While voice dictation is also supported, it was not demonstrated during the keynote.

The glasses boast a translucent screen, providing a sleek and modern look. Additionally, they offer up to 18 hours of battery life, are water-resistant, and come with two sets of transition lenses designed for indoor and outdoor use.

Mark your calendars: the Meta Ray-Ban Display glasses will be available starting September 30, 2025, priced at $799 USD. Despite the initial demo challenges, the glasses promise to be a fascinating addition to wearable tech.
