Body camera video shows Joliet police rescue man from river, use ropes to pull him from water

JOLIET, Ill. (WLS) — Body-worn camera video shows police in Joliet jumping into action to help a man in the Des Plaines River. Police say they heard a man calling for help near Bicentennial Park around 4: 30 a. m. Thursday. ABC7 Chicago is now streaming 24/7. Click here to watch Police blurred the face of the man in the video. Officers used ropes to hold onto the man until firefighters arrived. The 25-year-old man says he slipped and fell into the water. He was taken to the hospital to be checked out, Joliet police said.
