On the occasion of World Tourism Day, a seminar was organized in Chandigarh courtesy of the IKJ Care Foundation, an organization dedicated to sharing hope and happiness among people. The event witnessed enthusiastic participation from several eminent personalities.
Sara Juneja, Director of IKJ Care Foundation, was present on this special occasion and shared valuable insights into the importance of tourism. She emphasized that the world is home to many beautiful and historical tourist destinations, and visiting these places is a matter of pride. According to her, tourism acts as a bridge that connects the world, opens windows to various cultures, and influences social, cultural, political, and economic values globally.
Beyond offering diverse experiences, entertainment, and opportunities to explore new cultures, tourism significantly strengthens a nation’s economy and creates new job prospects. Sara Juneja also highlighted some remarkable tourist destinations within India.
She mentioned Khajjiar in Himachal Pradesh, often referred to as the “Mini Switzerland of India.” Kashmir, known for its breathtaking beauty, is rightly called “Heaven on Earth.” Pondicherry attracts tourists worldwide with its charm and pleasant climate. The capital city Delhi, famously known as “Dil waalon ki Delhi,” is another must-visit location. Among all, Rajasthan stands out with its deep layers of history that are beyond comprehension. “India is fantastic, and I am proud to be Indian,” she added.
It is noteworthy that IKJ Care Foundation primarily focuses on educating every child with perseverance, commitment, and hard work. The foundation aims to create a socially conscious society, provide medical treatment assistance to children from economically deprived families, and develop job-oriented career skills among girls and women. Additionally, the Foundation actively promotes initiatives like the Swachh Bharat Abhiyan.
Sara Juneja firmly believes in working at the grassroots level to transform more lives. She is married to Dr. Sanjeev Juneja, a well-known Indian business tycoon and investor, famously recognized as the Brand Machine. Dr. Sanjeev Juneja has received numerous honors for his contributions.
According to Dr. Sanjeev Juneja, living a hectic life filled with repetitive daily tasks and no time for family can lead to physical and mental distress. He suggests that taking breaks and going for walks are crucial, as they help reduce stress levels while simultaneously enhancing productivity.
The primary goal of World Tourism Day is to raise public awareness about the significant contribution tourism makes to both domestic and global economies. It also educates people on how tourism impacts social, cultural, political, and economic values worldwide. Undoubtedly, tourism remains a key factor in the overall development of a nation’s economy.
