Doesn’t sound like the easiest thing in the world, does it? One woman found this out the hard way—and her video about a doomed relationship has gone viral.
### What Happened to This Social Media Expert?
In a TikTok posted on January 6 that has since garnered over 1.3 million views, TikTok creator Kaylene’s Kloset (@kayleneskloset) shared a “story time” about her latest relationship that recently ended after she allegedly invested a ton of time and energy into helping her boyfriend gain an online audience.
“I turned my ex into an influencer,” Kaylene begins in the video. “And then once he became famous, he dumped me out of nowhere.”
Kaylene explains she has significant social media management experience, and that this mystery ex “works in healthcare.”
“When we first met, he actually didn’t have any social media at all, not even a personal account,” Kaylene says. “He had tried about two to three times before, and nothing ever came of it. But he asked if I would help him try again, and I ended up saying yes.”
### How Did Her Plan Go?
Kaylene claims she “put together a whole marketing strategy” for her then-boyfriend around the time they moved in together, along with a content plan and posting schedule. She also says this became their “entire life.”
“The first video that ever went viral was 100% my idea, and we basically took that format and used it for every video moving forward,” Kaylene says in the video. “Videos started going viral every day or every week, and it was growing super, super quickly. We hit 100,000 followers in just a few months and 200,000 followers in a little over a year and a half. And I was behind everything.”
Kaylene goes on to elaborate that not only was she the brains behind many video ideas, but she was actually responsible for the bulk of the labor behind his content creation.
“I edited and approved every single video script,” she says. “I was sitting right next to him while he filmed, going through line by line and telling him, ‘That one was good. Redo that one.’ Everything.”
### It Backfires
She continued, “I edited every video. I captioned every post. I physically posted every single video. Half the time we were filming on my phone just so that I could do all of these things in my free time.”
And it doesn’t end there. Kaylene says she also coordinated a wealth of other opportunities for her ex, including a photo shoot, coverage in a publication, a podcast appearance, brand deals (which he allegedly turned down), and more.
Kaylene says she juggled all this while working full-time, cleaning the house, cooking for both her and her boyfriend, and caring for her dog.
“He was constantly telling me to quit my job and just do his social media as my job even one month before he broke up with me,” Kaylene says. “We were always talking about the future. He was 100% into it. I truly thought we were building a life together. And then out of nowhere, he just broke up with me.”
Kaylene goes on to express heartbreak that she’s lost a future while her ex gets to keep what she allegedly built for him.
“So, moral of the story, focus on yourself,” Kaylene finishes. “Build your own career. Do not help a man build his.”
### “And What Did We Learn, Ladies?”
Viewers expressed varying levels of outrage and sympathy in Kaylene’s comments section, with many remarking upon the gender dynamics of the situation.
“Behind a successful man is a woman doing all the work,” one person commented.
“Never build a man,” said another.
“Big example, Jeff Bezos cheating on his wife for Lauren Sanchez,” someone added.
“You did wife and employee duties as a girlfriend,” another commenter admonished.
Even more people agreed, with one seconding, “Never help a man unless you’re married.”
Some viewers went as far as to say the ex-boyfriend owes Kaylene financial reparations.

### Who Is the Ex-Boyfriend?
Multiple commenters speculated that the ex-boyfriend in question is Yoshi Rothman, AKA “Doctor Yoshi,” a pediatrician with over 200,000 followers on TikTok. While Kaylene and Rothman have appeared in multiple videos together, and Rothman has frequently made videos responding to Kaylene’s comments, there appears to be no formal, public confirmation that the two were ever in a romantic relationship.
Rothman’s last TikTok video, as of this writing, was posted on August 28, 2025. The comment section of the video seems flooded with recent comments from Kaylene’s audience, criticizing him for the perceived mistreatment of his alleged ex.
