Tonight on The Stevetendo Show, we’re taking a trip back to the island of Chichuki for the Animal Crossing: New Horizons update, coinciding with the release of the Nintendo Switch 2 version. It’s been quite some time since I last visited my island, so I’m curious to see how my villagers will react to seeing me again.
That being said, there’s a new hotel on the island, so we’ll check that out this evening, as well as get the lay of the land once more. I also plan to design some new outfits inspired by bootleg sports uniforms for teams like the Jets, Mets, and Devils.
One exciting part of the update is the addition of playable NES games to collect. This feature was present in the original Animal Crossing but, strangely, wasn’t included in the Switch versions until now. We’ll put this update through its paces tonight, so if you’re interested, swing by and join us!
The stream is set to go live at 5 p.m. PDT / 8 p.m. EDT. Join The Stevetendo Show for our Animal Crossing: New Horizons playthrough and stay tuned to find out if Animal Crossing will continue to be part of our regular rotation.
For Shackers who want to join in on the fun, head over to the Shacknews Twitch channel, where you can catch The Stevetendo Show every Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday. If you can’t make it tonight, don’t worry—you can also watch Monday nights at 6 p.m. PDT / 9 p.m. EDT.
Looking ahead on the show, we will continue our Super Mario Galaxy 2 playthrough. Pokémon Legends Z-A will be back next week on Wednesday. If Animal Crossing sticks around in the rotation, it will be featured on Tuesday nights.
The action is heating up, and you won’t want to miss out! Be sure to check out the Shacknews Twitch channel as well as the Shacknews VODs YouTube channel. Catch up on some of your favorite Shacknews programs by subscribing to the YouTube channel and following us on Twitch.
In other news, Shacknews has launched a new service called Shackmaps. Our dedicated staff has explored some of your favorite video games to help you avoid getting lost, making your gaming experience smoother than ever.
I’m also adding a retro night to The Stevetendo Show lineup and modifying the existing Shacker’s Choice night option. This month will serve as something of market research to see if these changes resonate with our viewers. If no Shacker’s Choice game is selected, we’ll continue with our regular programming as usual.
When February rolls around, expect to see classics like Mario Tennis, Resident Evil, and more on The Stevetendo Show. Keep sending in your suggestions for new games you’d love to see featured. If it’s on the Nintendo Switch 2 or part of the Nintendo Switch 2 Online service, it could very well star in an upcoming episode.
As I’ve mentioned before, Nintendo often adds games to the Nintendo Switch Online service without much warning. They recently surprise-released Fire Emblem for the GameCube section, so you never know when the next addition will come—maybe Donkey Kong 64, various Pokémon games, Rad Racer, and more are closer than we think!
Stay tuned, and we’ll see you tonight on The Stevetendo Show!
