TIFTON Mobile library program Library Everywhere will be ending its regular route at the end of 2025. Representatives of the Coastal Plain Regional Library System announced that the program’s mobile library van will no longer be making its regular stops starting in 2026, instead putting a greater focus on outreach and community. Begun in 2022 to provide rural communities in the coastal plain region with greater access to library services, Library Everywhere paid a visit a few times each month to cities and towns across Ben Hill, Berrien, Cook, Irwin, Tift and Turner counties to provide them with Internet, computer, and book checkout services, among other services that they might not have as ready access to. Allison Young, outreach services coordinator for the regional library system, reported that the program would not be ending, but instead redirect its focus towards greater collaboration with the community through partnerships with local organizations and appearances at community events throughout all six counties in the coastal plain region. “It was wonderful to visit all of our smaller communities in our service area, and we really do appreciate all of our partners and organizations that provided a space for us to set up,” Young said. “We could not have done [Library Everywhere] without everyone, and we really look forward to all of the wonderful things we’re going to do in the future.” The program’s revisions are expected to take effect sometime after the turn of the new year.
