What happened to Aaron Rodgers in Steelers’ game against Bengals?

At just one game above .500 at the time of this writing, the Pittsburgh Steelers are working hard to hold off the red-hot, rival Baltimore Ravens in the AFC North division race.

However, the Steelers’ hopes of securing the division title took a significant hit after starting quarterback Aaron Rodgers suffered an injury mid-game against the Cincinnati Bengals on Sunday. The future Pro Football Hall of Fame quarterback sustained a left-hand injury and had to leave the field for treatment.

This unfortunate event put the Steelers’ offense in the hands of veteran backup Mason Rudolph. For everyone in Pittsburgh, this is clearly a less-than-ideal situation, especially with the team trying to stay afloat in its division title race.

At the time of his injury, Rodgers had amassed 1,853 passing yards, 18 touchdowns, and seven interceptions while completing over 66 percent of his passes. While Rodgers has had some struggles, those numbers represent a level of production that can’t simply be replicated on short notice.
