SF Giants’ Webb finishes fourth in NL Cy Young Award voting

Logan Webb finished fourth in the 2025 NL Cy Young Award voting, marking the fourth consecutive year that the Giants’ ace has received votes for the prestigious award.

The Pittsburgh Pirates’ Paul Skenes, who posted a 1.97 ERA with 216 strikeouts over 32 starts, won the hardware for the first time in his career. Skenes follows up his 2024 NL Rookie of the Year honor with this well-deserved achievement.

Finishing as the runner-up was the Philadelphia Phillies’ Cristopher Sánchez, while the Los Angeles Dodgers’ Yoshinobu Yamamoto secured third place in the voting.

Webb, who turns 29 next week, led the majors with 207 innings pitched and topped the National League with a career-high 224 strikeouts. He became the first Giant to lead the NL in both innings and strikeouts since Bill Voiselle of the 1944 New York Giants.

Earlier this month, the right-hander shared his main goal for next season: “to get back to the playoffs.” He also expressed a strong desire to win “the big one,” highlighting his determination to bring a championship to San Francisco.
