AJ Styles, a veteran in-ring competitor, is set to retire in 2026. Currently aligned with Dragon Lee on WWE RAW, the duo holds the World Tag Team Championships. Styles’ former tag team partner, Ad Omos, recently shared his thoughts on the veteran’s impending retirement.

Ad Omos, who previously teamed with AJ Styles to capture the RAW Tag Team Championships, spoke in an interview with MuscleManMalcolm. The Nigerian Giant expressed his sadness about Styles’ upcoming retirement but also acknowledged the wrestler’s dedication to his family.

“I mean, it’s kind of sad. He’s one of the greats. He’s wrestled for over 25 years at this point. It’s sad that someone as great as him is gonna be hanging up the boots. But still, I’m happy because knowing him personally, I know that he’s also a family man. He has a beautiful family and I also know that he’s getting to spend time with his kids,” Ad Omos said.

He further praised Styles’ impressive career, highlighting his success across multiple wrestling promotions.

“He’s been successful in every company he’s ever wrestled, you know, from Ring of Honor, New Japan, TNA, WWE. He’s done it all. He’s done everything. He’s truly ‘The Phenomenal One.’ That moniker is not just a moniker just for nothing. It means something. He’s done it at the highest level for 25 years and still continues to do so,” added Ad Omos.

In addition to his WWE accomplishments, Ad Omos recently won the Copa Bardahl Battle Royal at AAA TripleMania XXXIII in August, further establishing himself as a rising talent in the wrestling world.

Vince Russo Voices Doubts About WWE’s Booking of AJ Styles’ Final Year

Meanwhile, wrestling legend Vince Russo has expressed skepticism regarding WWE’s booking plans for AJ Styles’ final year in the ring. Speaking on his podcast *Writing with Russo*, Russo suggested that WWE might not handle Styles’ farewell run effectively.

“Bro, I don’t even know. Like I don’t know what to tell you. As a shoot, I would let AJ work against who he wants to work against. Let’s face it, we’re in the era of the five-star match. There is no way out, especially when he announces he’s on his way out. So you can’t do a loser leaves town angle because you told us you’re leaving. So, we know you’re leaving at the end of the year. So, everybody knows the end of the story. So knowing them, the easy way out is to let them have matches with people that he wants to have matches, man,” Russo stated.
