US President Donald Trump and billionaire Elon Musk were recently pictured shaking hands and speaking at the Charlie Kirk memorial, months after their very public feud.
Asked about the exchange, Mr. Trump said: “Well, Elon came over and said hello. I thought it was nice that he came over. Had a little conversation. We had a good relationship, but it was nice that he came over.”
Elon Musk left his role in the Trump administration at the end of May after leading the newly established Department Of Government Efficiency (DOGE). Their falling out became public after Mr. Musk criticized Mr. Trump’s tax cuts and spending bill.
As tensions escalated, Mr. Musk went as far as claiming that Mr. Trump was linked to the so-called “Epstein files.” In response, Mr. Trump threatened to deport the SpaceX and Tesla chief executive.
Since then, their relationship appears to have thawed somewhat. Mr. Musk has reportedly told advisers that he wants to reconcile. Additionally, Vice President JD Vance has been attempting to bring Mr. Musk back into the political fold in Washington.
