How to Get a Custom Weapon Loadout in Battlefield 6: REDSEC

Battlefield 6: REDSEC combines elements from many popular battle royale games, and one of its unique features is the limited ability to build into a loadout. Knowing how to acquire your custom-built weapons and class-specific abilities during a match is key to achieving victory. Here’s how you can do it.

Custom Weapon Loadouts: What You Need to Know

Unlike games like Warzone, you can’t access a full custom loadout in Battlefield 6: REDSEC. However, you can equip two custom-built weapons with superior attachments compared to what you find by looting.

To get your custom weapon loadout, you have two main options:

  • Find and loot a custom weapon drop during a match.
  • Call in a custom weapon drop by completing a mission that rewards it (this is the preferred method).

Finding and Calling in Custom Weapon Drops

Custom weapon drops appear periodically on the map. You can identify them by their rocket-pod icons on your minimap and HUD. However, random drops quickly become contested zones, as all teams are aware of their locations and rush to claim them.

Alternatively, completing specific missions to call in a custom weapon drop for you and your squad guarantees that you keep everything for yourself. These missions are not harder but tend to lean towards PvP risk scenarios.

Selecting and Favoriting Your Custom Weapon Builds

Once you’ve called in your weapon drop, you’ll be able to choose from a selection of custom weapon builds you’ve created and favorited before the match. To favorite a weapon build, open the skin select or customize screen and press:

  • X on keyboard
  • Square on PS5
  • X on Xbox

Completing Your Loadout

Grabbing your custom weapon is just one step toward building a strong loadout. You’ll also need to scavenge the map for essential gear such as RPGs, Defibrillator kits, and other utilities. Having an airstrike ready for use can also significantly tilt the odds in your favor.

A solid mid-to-late game kit typically includes:

  • One or two custom weapons
  • An RPG or AA launcher
  • A Defibrillator
  • Smoke or frag grenades
  • A mortar or a strafing run offensive Strike Package

Even a group of random teammates with no prior coordination can pull off an unlikely win if they are all equipped like this. Though the odds may be long, intelligent use of airstrikes during the final circle and Defibrillators to revive squad members can lead to victory.
