Halo Studios has announced *Halo: Campaign Evolved*, a remake of the first-person shooter that started it all. Scheduled for release in 2026, *Campaign Evolved* offers improved visuals, updated cinematics, and new content while staying true to the original Halo game.
In addition to launching on Xbox and PC, *Halo: Campaign Evolved* will mark a major milestone for the franchise by debuting on PlayStation with a PS5 release. This will be the first time a Halo game ships on a rival platform.
The announcement was made during the Halo World Championships, where *Halo: Campaign Evolved* was described as a “faithful yet modernized remake” of *Halo: Combat Evolved*. As the title suggests, this remake focuses exclusively on the Campaign mode of the original game.
Halo Studios has confirmed that, alongside the enhanced visuals and cinematic improvements, the remake will introduce three new prequel missions featuring Master Chief and Sgt. Johnson. These additional missions expand the story and provide fresh gameplay experiences for longtime fans and newcomers alike.
*Halo: Campaign Evolved* will support split-screen co-op as well as online co-op for up to four players, allowing friends to team up and experience the iconic campaign together.
Notably, this release will bring a couple of firsts to the series. It is built entirely in Unreal Engine 5, marking a departure from the development approach of previous Halo titles. Additionally, its launch on the PS5 makes it the first Halo game available on this platform, broadening the series’ reach to a new audience.
