Indian Air Force Celebrates 93rd Air Force Day with Grandeur at Hindon Air Base
Ghaziabad: The Indian Air Force (IAF) is commemorating its 93rd Air Force Day on Wednesday, October 8, marking nearly a century of dedicated service and discipline. The main event, held at the Hindon Air Force Base in Ghaziabad, will be broadcast live across official platforms, enabling viewers nationwide to witness India’s aerial prowess firsthand.
What to Expect in the Parade
The celebrations will feature a grand parade, spectacular flypasts, and dynamic demonstrations showcasing India’s advanced air capabilities. Despite some weather-related disruptions during Monday’s full dress rehearsal, officials remain confident that the event will proceed smoothly.
Viewers tuning into the live stream can expect to see frontline fighter jets such as the Rafale, Sukhoi Su-30MKI, and MiG-29. Additionally, heavy-lift aircraft including the C-17 Globemaster III and C-130J Super Hercules will be on display.
The parade will also highlight indigenous defence systems like the Netra AEW&C, Akash Surface-to-Air Missile, and Rohini radar, demonstrating India’s significant progress in military technology. The lineup will further include the Apache attack helicopter and the Advanced Light Helicopter (ALH).
A special tribute segment will honour the MiG-21 Bison, which has retired after more than six decades of service, including a prominent role in Operation Sindoor.
Special Focus on Operation Sindoor
This year’s celebrations place strong emphasis on Operation Sindoor, the IAF’s strategic response targeting Pakistan-based terrorist infrastructure following the Pahalgam attack in April. Air Chief Marshal AP Singh is anticipated to highlight the success of this critical mission and discuss its implications for regional security.
Global Engagement and Future Endeavors
The event will also spotlight the IAF’s expanding global footprint, highlighting participation in international exercises such as Red Flag Alaska, Desert Knight, Udara Shakti in Malaysia, and Bright Star in Egypt.
In a historic milestone, the force will celebrate Group Captain Shubhanshu Shukla’s upcoming 2025 space mission, marking India’s first human spaceflight by an IAF officer.
Humanitarian Operations
Besides combat readiness, the IAF will showcase its humanitarian efforts, including recent relief operations in Uttarkashi, Punjab, and Myanmar. These activities underscore the dual role of the IAF as both a combat force and a disaster-response agency.
Viewers can watch the Indian Air Force Day 2025 celebrations live through official IAF and government digital platforms.
