AHL: Utica dominates Syracuse at home

Utica, N.Y. — The Comets hosted the Crunch on Sunday and came away with a convincing 5-1 victory.

The Comets got the start they were looking for early in the game. Just 1:26 into the first period, they went on the power play after Crunch defenseman Tommy Miller was called for high-sticking. Although the Comets were unable to capitalize during the man advantage, they struck shortly after the power play expired.

At the 3:40 mark, Ethan Edwards fired a seeing-eye shot from the left point that found its way through traffic and beat Crunch netminder Ryan Fanti, giving the Comets a 1-0 lead. This goal marked Edwards’ fifth of the season, with assists credited to Jack Malone and Dylan Wendt.
