HOUSTON (AP) — Jeremy Elyzee’s 17 points helped Southeastern Louisiana defeat Houston Christian 74-71 in overtime on Saturday.
Elyzee also contributed seven rebounds for the Lions, who improved to 4-6 overall and 1-1 in the Southland Conference. Peter Hemschemeier added 14 points, six rebounds, and four steals, while Isaiah Gaines scored 12 points, shooting 4 of 7 from the field and 4 of 6 from the free-throw line.
For Houston Christian, Elijah Brooks led the way with 17 points and four steals. Trent Johnson also scored 17 points. Kylin Green nearly recorded a triple-double with eight points, nine rebounds, 10 assists, and two steals. The Huskies’ record fell to 5-5 overall and 1-1 in conference play.
