YouTuber PopularMMOs’ cryptic post about him being an “addict” leaves netizens concerned

YouTuber Patrick Thomas “Pat,” better known as “PopularMMOs,” has sparked concern among the online community after sharing a cryptic post on social media.

On November 9, 2025, the content creator took to X to share a rather incoherent update, admitting that he is an “addict” and suggesting that his girlfriend would “hate” his social media post. The tweet read:

> “Im an àddict my girl will hate this post. We die for our sìcknes. Wh we n u goʻ o the hospital they y asybyiù çànþnl ou withdraw at 5 Just”

Over 658 users on the Elon Musk-owned platform responded, sharing their thoughts and concerns about Patrick’s well-being.

One fan attempted to interpret the message, writing:

> “For those who can’t read it: ‘I’m an addict. My girlfriend’s going to hate this post. We die because of our sickness. When you go to the hospital, they just ask if you can handle withdrawing at five’ (I think). I hope you get the help you need. You meant a lot to a lot of us growing up.”

Other commenters offered messages of support and encouragement.

X user @AvionLukas commented:

> “Praying for you. Praying over what is speaking into your mind and telling you things that are not true about yourself.”

Meanwhile, @lilcombmusic shared their own experience:

> “I know the horrible hopeless feeling it is to be in this position. I’m almost 2 months sober and feel so much better! Praying for your success!”

Another fan, @MorbidDuck6966, offered heartfelt advice:

> “Take care of yourself Pat. I know you’re strong enough to get past this. Just lock in and focus, my guy. Get some help and support, people who will help you when you need it. You’re never alone Pat. Never alone.”

Reflecting on his journey, Patrick shared a video he filmed in January where, according to him, “the situation looked terrible.” He addressed his battle with alcoholism in the video, saying:

> “Okay, guys, I just watched a video of myself that was on my phone from January. And, guys, as most people know, I am an alcoholic, and I tried to make a video talking about it, trying to help people, and trying to show my journey. Went terrible, honestly. It is so difficult.”

> “But right now, guys, I am four months sober, and looking at the video, I look like a completely different person. Honestly, I’m making this part of it so I don’t jumpscare you, because it looks terrible. Oh my god! And I’m going to leave it uncut, too, because it shows just, like, how ill I was. Like, I almost threw up on myself in the video.”

PopularMMOs previously made headlines in May 2025 when a video of his arrest surfaced online, adding to the public interest in his personal struggles.

The online community continues to rally around Patrick, offering him support as he faces his challenges and works towards recovery.
