Warriors’ Draymond Green Reveals Why He Confronted NBA Fan

Golden State Warriors star Draymond Green avoided what could’ve been a troublesome courtside incident during his team’s recent game against the New Orleans Pelicans. The NBA champion and former All-Star recently revealed more about what occurred between him and the fan, prompting Green to confront him courtside. The confrontation occurred in the second quarter, with Green walking over to face a man sitting courtside. While it’s unclear what anyone said in the video, it is clear that Green took exception to the fan and had words with him. The fan also had his arms extended to his sides as Green confronted him. A referee walked over to move Green away from the verbal altercation before it escalated further. Green’s Warriors’ teammate also walked over to see what was happening. It was a good joke at first, but you can’t keep calling me a woman. I got four kids. One on the way. Can’t keep calling me a woman,” Green explained in the locker room, adding, “He got quiet, though, so it was fine.” Green claimed the fan was “talking at first”, but once he got closer to confront him, “he really didn’t say much else.” Based on additional remarks, the fan was calling Green by a specific woman’s name, and a reporter added, “she is a very good rebounder,” suggesting it’s WNBA star Angel Reese, who currently plays for the Chicago Sky. “For sure. Lisa Leslie was a good rebounder too, she’s older than me,” Green joked about the fan’s taunts. According to Green, the official who walked over told him they’d handle it and had heard the fan “over and over” again, so they knew the situation. The Warriors star also said the ref warned him not to get himself into any trouble, saying they’d “take care of it.” That exchange, which went viral online, occurred during a game in which the Warriors blew out the New Orleans Pelicans, 124-106. Green shot 3-for-13 and finished with eight points, 10 rebounds, and six assists. Angel Reese has led the WNBA in rebounds per game over the past several seasons, but has also drawn criticism for getting many of her own rebounds after missing shots. Green is averaging 5. 8 rebounds per game, tying him for 65th in the league. His 37. 3 percent field goal shooting is the second-worst in his career, with his rookie season’s 32. 7 percent being his lowest.
