Trump Attacks Democrat Candidates As Election Day Looms

President Donald Trump took to Truth Social on Sunday evening to post several messages attacking Democratic candidates ahead of Election Day, coinciding with the airing of his interview on “60 Minutes” on CBS.

The wide-ranging interview, conducted at Trump’s Mar-A-Lago residence, was reported by FOX Business Senior Reporter Charles Gasparino to include a direct address regarding the New York City mayoral election. However, the portions of the interview that aired on television featured Trump only briefly commenting on the contest. When asked to choose between former New York Governor Andrew Cuomo, whom he described as a “bad Democrat,” and New York State Assemblyman Zohran Mamdani, labeled a “communist,” Trump said he would pick the “bad Democrat.”

Instead, Trump focused his criticism on Democratic candidates running in major gubernatorial races in Virginia and New Jersey through his posts on Truth Social. Over the span of ten minutes, he published three messages urging residents in both states to vote Republican. In one post, he warned that a vote for the Democrats is a “DEATH WISH” that will only bring “HEARTACHE.”

Trump wrote: “VOTE REPUBLICAN FOR A GREAT AND VERY AFFORDABLE LIFE. All you’ll get from voting Democrat is unrelentingly High Crime, Energy prices through the roof, men playing in women’s sports, and HEARTACHE!”
