**Why the World Is the Way It Is: Understanding the Agenda of the Powerful**
Which sounds more likely:
(A) That things are bad because the population keeps organically voting for policies which just so happen to hurt ordinary people while benefitting the rich and powerful,
or
(B) That things are bad because the rich and powerful want things this way?
You don’t need to be an expert in politics or parapolitics to see that (B) is the most likely explanation for why things keep getting worse for everyone except the rich and powerful. Basic reasoning and an understanding of human behavior suggest there’s no way democracy is working as advertised if ordinary voters keep losing out while billionaires and those in power get everything they want.
**We Are Ruled by People Who Want Things Like This**
Things are as bad as they are because we are governed by people who want it this way. Once you awaken to this undeniable reality, radicalization feels almost inevitable.
– Our rulers want nonstop war and genocide.
– They want obscene levels of inequality.
– They want the public to be poor and struggling.
– They want people to be getting dumber, sicker, and more miserable.
– They want unrestricted industry, even as it kills Earth’s biosphere.
– They want us to have vapid, unedifying mainstream culture.
This dystopia looks more or less exactly how they want it to look.
**War and Inequality Serve the Ruling Class**
Our rulers want war, militarism, and genocide to be the norm because military force is a critical way for them to dominate the planet, control resources and trade routes, and suppress foreign systems that could establish a different world order. Waging and preparing for war is also extremely profitable for them.
Plutocrats want inequality to continue because it allows them to live as modern-day monarchs. When money equates to power, and power is always relative, those with the money will ensure they have more while everyone else has less. If everyone is a king, then no one is.
They want the public to have just enough spending money to keep capitalism running, but not enough to fund political campaigns or buy media influence. The poorer the masses become, the more powerful the elite are.
**Control Through Ignorance and Suffering**
Our rulers want us to remain misinformed, distracted, sick, struggling, and suffering. If we all had enough time, information, and mental acuity to fully understand what’s happening around us, public outrage would be inevitable. Our rulers have a vested interest in keeping us in a mental fog of propaganda, diversion, ignorance, illiteracy, and psychological dysfunction.
**Environmental Destruction as Policy**
They want corporations to be free to destroy the planet’s ecosystem, because offloading the costs onto the environment is the only way to steadily increase profits. As long as corporations can pollute, clear rainforests, poison water, and destroy biodiversity, they can continue to maximize shareholder value.
An alliance of corporate and state power now advances these agendas in service of the few who benefit, while the rest of humanity is left to suffer.
**How This System Is Maintained**
These agendas are maintained through mass media propaganda, campaign donations, lobbying, and other influence operations. The system is designed to ensure things remain as they are.
The more you learn to spot the signs of these dynamics, the more urgently you see the need for deep, systemic change. Truth and clarity pave the way for real revolutionary transformation.
**What We Can Do**
Our rulers are doing everything they can to stop us from tracing society’s problems back to those benefiting from them. They want us to be:
– Stupid, so we need to get smarter.
– Ignorant, so we need to inform ourselves.
– Uncaring, so we need to become more compassionate.
– Compliant, so we need to become disobedient.
The world is a mess because our rulers want it to be a mess. That’s why it’s so vital that everything in us pushes in the exact opposite direction.
