Templeton shuts out North Stars 41-0 The Templeton High School football team beat the powerful North (Bakersfield) Stars 41-0 in a semifinal game in the CIF Central Section Playoffs. Templeton hosted the game Friday night at Mike Erb Field. The Eagles stopped the potent North running game in the outset, then scored an 82-yard touchdown pass on their first play from scrimmage. Colter Tannehill hit Tyler Cunningham over the middle, and Tyler ran down the field for the first touchdown. That set the tone for the game. Cunningham carried the ball 18 times for 135 yards and 2 touchdowns. He also caught two passes for 134 yards. Colter Tanneill completed 8 of 16 passes for 233 yards and 3 touchdowns. Receiver Colby Sims had 6 receptions for 99 yards and two touchdowns. But Coach Don Crow credits the defense for shutting down the Stars. Cunningham also played a key role in paralyzing the Stars’ run offense. With the victory, Templeton advances to the CIF Title game against Immanuel of Reedley. Both teams are undefeated with records of 12-0. They will play the CIF Championship game Friday night at Templeton High School.
