Over 220 Rockstar employees send letters to studio demanding reinstatement of fired staff

**Rockstar Games Faces Union Backlash Over Recent Employee Firings**

Rockstar Games has come under fire from gaming union workers following the recent termination of around 30 employees. The company claims these employees were let go for “gross behavior” and leaking confidential company material. However, the IWGB Game Workers Union alleges that Rockstar is engaging in union-busting activities.

Approximately 220 workers affiliated with the union have signed letters addressed to Rockstar Games, demanding the reinstatement of the fired employees. The IWGB Game Workers shared news of its ongoing protests on its website, reporting that the group of 220 current Rockstar employees— all members of the IWGB Game Workers Union— have sent formal letters urging the company to give the 31 dismissed workers their jobs back.

To amplify their demands, the union has promised further demonstrations in both London and Paris, scheduled for November 14 and November 18, while the affected employees remain out of work.

Rockstar Games has stood by its decision and continues to assert that no wrongdoing occurred on its part. The company maintains that the employees were dismissed for allegedly sharing confidential materials in an unauthorized Discord server.

The IWGB, however, disputes this narrative. Anonymous Rockstar employees, corroborated by several sources, have shared additional details that reportedly point to low morale and targeted firings within the studio.

Amidst this controversy, Rockstar made the decision to delay the release of Grand Theft Auto 6 to November. Although the company has not explicitly stated that the ongoing dispute is the reason for the delay, many observers believe the controversy is likely at the center of the postponement.
