With A Trace Quest Guide
With A Trace is one of the many quests you will receive from Shani in Security. She wants you to investigate a downed machine and determine who is responsible. This quest unfolds entirely on The Blue Gate map and involves a series of investigative tasks.
To complete With A Trace, you will need to:
- Reach the Barren Clearing
- Find signs of who brought down the ARC machines
- Inspect the Adorned Wreckage
- Inspect the communications device
Completing these steps will earn you a Looting Mk. 2 Augment and a Medium Shield.
Step 1: Reach the Barren Clearing
The Barren Clearing is located on the northwest side of The Blue Gate map. It lies to the left of Raider’s Refuge. This area stands out as it is devoid of trees and littered with giant ARC machines.
Step 2: Find Signs of Who Brought Down the ARC Machines
Once you arrive in the Barren Clearing, you need to search for clues about who caused the ARC machines to fall. Head toward the southwest side of the clearing and approach the main wreck.
You should look for a ball resting against one of the machine’s legs. When you get close, a yellow Investigate prompt will appear. Interact with the round joint to complete this step and unlock the next part of the quest.
Step 3: Inspect the Adorned Wreckage
After investigating the Barren Clearing, your next task is to find the Adorned Wreckage. This is located south of the Barren Clearing within The Blue Gate.
The Adorned Wreckage is characterized by a large pile of wreckage covered in cables and dishes. Make your way here to continue the quest.
Step 4: Inspect the Communications Device
At the Adorned Wreckage, search for a computer terminal situated on the south side of the area. Turn on the yellow-highlighted computer to complete the final step of With A Trace.
Once done, you will successfully finish the quest and collect your rewards.
