**With A Trace Quest Guide**
*With A Trace* is one of the many quests you will receive from Shani in *Security*. In this quest, Shani asks you to investigate a downed machine and determine who is responsible.
The quest takes place entirely on *The Blue Gate* map and consists of four main steps:
1. Reach the Barren Clearing
2. Find signs of who brought down the ARC machines
3. Inspect the Adorned Wreckage
4. Inspect the communications device
Upon completing *With A Trace*, you will be rewarded with a Looting Mk. 2 Augment and a Medium Shield.

### Step 1: Reach the Barren Clearing
The Barren Clearing is located on the northwest side of *The Blue Gate*. You’ll find it to the left of Raider’s Refuge. This area is notable for being devoid of trees and littered with giant ARC machines, making it easy to spot.

### Step 2: Find Signs of Who Brought Down the ARC Machines
Once you arrive at the Barren Clearing, your next task is to find clues about who brought down the ARC machines. Head to the southwest side of the clearing and look toward the main wreckage.
Here, you should see a ball resting against one of the machine’s legs. When you approach, a yellow *Investigate* prompt will appear. Interact with the round joint to discover the next clue and advance the quest.

### Step 3: Inspect the Adorned Wreckage
After investigating the Barren Clearing, your next destination is the Adorned Wreckage, located south of the Barren Clearing in *The Blue Gate*.
Look for a large piece of wreckage covered in cables and dishes. This distinct landmark is key to progressing in the quest.

### Step 4: Inspect the Communications Device
At the Adorned Wreckage, search the south side of the area for a computer terminal.
Turn on the yellow glowing computer to complete this step and wrap up the *With A Trace* quest.
