With A Trace Quest Guide
With A Trace is one of the many quests you will receive from Shani in Security. She wants you to investigate a downed machine and determine who is responsible. This quest takes place entirely on The Blue Gate map and consists of four main steps.
Quest Objectives
- Reach the Barren Clearing
- Find signs of who brought down the ARC machines
- Inspect the Adorned Wreckage
- Inspect the communications device
Upon completing With A Trace, you will be rewarded with a Looting Mk. 2 Augment and a Medium Shield.
Where to Find the Barren Clearing
The Barren Clearing is located on the northwest side of The Blue Gate. You can find it to the left of Raider’s Refuge. This area is distinctive for being devoid of trees and littered with giant ARC machines.
Finding Signs of Who Brought Down the ARC Machines
Once you reach the Barren Clearing, your next task is to find signs indicating who brought down the ARC machines. Head to the southwest side of the Barren Clearing and look toward the main wreck.
Search for a ball resting against one of the legs of the machine. When you approach it, a yellow Investigate prompt will appear. After searching the round joint, you will advance to the next step of the quest.
Where to Find the Adorned Wreckage
The Adorned Wreckage is a different location within The Blue Gate. From the Barren Clearing, head south to find this area. It can be identified by the large wreckage covered in cables and dishes.
Locating the Communications Device
At the Adorned Wreckage, look for a computer terminal on the south side of the area. Turn on the yellow computer to inspect the communications device and complete the final step of With A Trace.
