The Chicago Bears will be without tight end Cole Kmet for the remainder of their Week 9 game against the Cincinnati Bengals. Kmet went down after making a first-down catch during the first half and was subsequently evaluated for a concussion.
Early in the third quarter, the Bears announced that Kmet would not return to the game. The official update from Bears Communications read:
**#Bears TE Cole Kmet has been ruled OUT.**

This is a disappointing development for Kmet, who had missed his first game last week due to a back injury, sitting out the Week 8 loss to the Baltimore Ravens. His return to the field in this game was encouraging, making the setback all the more frustrating.
We will continue to monitor Cole Kmet’s progress throughout the upcoming week. In the meantime, the Bears are expected to increase snaps for tight ends Colston Loveland and Durham Smythe to fill the void left by Kmet’s absence.
