STONY BROOK, N.Y. (AP) — Quinn Boyd passed for 351 yards and threw three touchdown passes, two of which went to Jayce Freeman, as Stony Brook secured a 31-12 victory over North Carolina A&T on Saturday.
Boyd and Freeman connected on a 33-yard touchdown in the first quarter, giving the Seawolves (5-5, 3-3 Coastal Athletic Association) an early 7-3 lead. Boyd then ran 5 yards for the next score, followed by a 65-yard touchdown pass to Freeman that extended the lead to 24-3 in the second quarter.
Before halftime, Boyd threw a 25-yard touchdown pass to Dez Williams, putting Stony Brook up 31-6. Boyd completed 37 of 48 passes overall, while Freeman caught seven passes for 140 yards.
For the Aggies (2-8, 2-4), Kevin White completed 15 of 24 passes for 180 yards, including a 16-yard touchdown pass to Antoine Bell in the third quarter, which was the only score in the second half.
Stony Brook dominated the game statistically, outgaining North Carolina A&T 493 to 221 in total yards.
