Karan Raj is a senior writer in Sportskeeda’s AEW division. He holds an engineering degree from Manipal University, but his passion for sports motivated him to pursue an MSc in Sports Business from the University of Liverpool. With seven years of experience in the sports marketing industry, Karan brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise to his writing.
As a lifelong WWE fan and enthusiast of wrestling entertainment, Karan has always been drawn to the industry’s unique blend of sports and storytelling. He was first introduced to the business by his elder sister when he was just 10 years old. This early exposure ignited a passion that continues to drive his work today.
Before assuming his current role at Sportskeeda, Karan worked for several reputable organizations, including Ting Works LLP and Sportz Interactive, where he held various positions. Notably, Karan also wrote the anthem for UP Rudras, a hockey team that competed in the Hockey India League.

When it comes to professional wrestling, Karan’s favorite pro wrestler is Seth Rollins. He admires The Visionary’s versatility as a performer and his ability to flawlessly portray both heel and babyface characters. Alongside Rollins, Karan also looks up to Roman Reigns for his exceptional storytelling skills and capacity to captivate audiences.
Within AEW, Karan enjoys watching Will Ospreay compete. He appreciates The Aerial Assassin’s technical in-ring ability and athleticism, making him a standout performer to follow.
If Karan could go back to the Attitude Era, he imagines teaming up with Chris Jericho, vowing to elevate his career to the same legendary status as The Rock and Stone Cold Steve Austin.
Outside of wrestling, Karan has a deep love for football, both playing and watching the sport. Football forms a significant part of his life. He is also a big fan of tennis and is currently learning to play. Besides sports, Karan has a creative side and knows how to play the ukulele.
