T-Mobile Launches Two New Products for Business Customers

T-Mobile is once again courting business customers with the launch of two new offerings: Edge Control and T-Platform.

Edge Control: Like a Private Network, Minus the Hassle

Edge Control is a network solution designed for time-sensitive and high-security use cases – the kind of workloads where even a split-second delay can matter. Built on top of T-Mobile’s 5G Advanced network, it harnesses local breakout and the principles of edge computing to process data closer to where it originates, instead of letting it travel across the country as normal internet traffic does.

This approach not only helps minimize delays but also curtails security risks, making it essential for businesses that require mission-critical connectivity. For example, hospitals can’t afford the reliability issues and security concerns inherent to Wi-Fi.

Despite proclaiming it has the best network, T-Mobile’s growth has been stagnating. To maintain its performance trajectory, the company is exploring new avenues, including providing specialized solutions to business customers.

T-Mobile is the only company to have deployed 5G Advanced — a critical technology enabling Edge Control. This puts it ahead of rivals AT&T and Verizon, who have only just begun rolling out 5G Standalone (5G SA) networks.

In late August, T-Mobile also announced SuperMobile, a plan tailored specifically for business customers.
