Taylor Lewan is a believer in Jaxson Dart and the New York Giants. The “Bussin’ With the Boys” podcaster and longtime Tennessee Titans offensive lineman picked New York to cap a sweep of the rival Philadelphia Eagles and win at Lincoln Financial Field on Sunday.
Lewan and podcast cohost Will Compton appeared on ESPN’s “Get Up” for their weekly spot, where Lewan was asked to make a bold prediction. He confidently predicted that the Giants would win in the City of Brotherly Love for the first time since 2013 and complete a sweep of the Eagles for the first time since 2007.
The Giants, of course, delivered a stunning upset by defeating the Eagles 34-17 at MetLife Stadium. Jaxson Dart led the charge with 195 passing yards and one touchdown pass, complemented by 58 rushing yards and a rushing score. Cam Skattebo also made a significant impact, tallying three rushing touchdowns, helping New York improve to 2-4 at the time.
### Taylor Lewan: Cam Skattebo and Jaxson Dart Will Lead Giants to Victory Again
The Giants have struggled in recent years, boasting just one playoff win since their 2012 Super Bowl XLVI victory over the New England Patriots. Meanwhile, the Eagles have emerged as a model NFL franchise with two Super Bowl titles and three championship-game appearances in the past seven years.
However, the addition of Skattebo and Dart has made the Giants more dangerous and competitive. Beyond their win over the Eagles, the Giants nearly toppled the Denver Broncos in a heartbreaking 33-32 loss at Empower Field at Mile High.
Lewan trusts New York to finish the job against Philadelphia this Sunday.
“The Creatine Caucasians are going to do it again,” Lewan boldly declared. “They’re making plays — 75 percent of that game against the Denver Broncos was absolutely beautiful. They’re going to do it for all 60 minutes this weekend.”
### Bussin’ With The Boys: Eagles Offense Is In Flux
The Giants’ newfound confidence with Dart and Skattebo contrasts with drama unfolding within the Eagles organization. Wide receiver A.J. Brown did not practice Wednesday due to a hamstring injury. Though he recently exploded for 121 yards and two touchdowns against the Minnesota Vikings, he has stirred controversy with cryptic social media posts questioning offensive coordinator Kevin Patullo’s play-calling.
“If I’m an offensive tackle, [Brown’s social-media posts] frustrate me,” Lewan said. “But as a true offensive lineman, I’m going back in the shadows because I know Saquon Barkley rushed for about 3.1 yards per carry vs. the Vikings, and I know I have a whole lot more work to do. It’s difficult to point fingers at A.J. Brown.”
Additionally, the Eagles only narrowly defeated the Vikings by six points due to their poor run game, which produced a mere 45 yards.
The Giants’ pass rush is a significant challenge for most offenses. Philadelphia’s struggling offensive line could face serious trouble against New York defenders like Kayvon Thibodeaux, Abdul Carter, Dexter Lawrence, and Brian Burns — who leads the NFL with nine sacks — even when trying to run the ball.
“If you can’t have [the offensive line] get Saquon Barkley to the line of scrimmage, then you’re not going to be successful,” Lewan explained.
With the Giants’ improving playmakers and the Eagles facing internal challenges, the stage is set for an intense rivalry clash at Lincoln Financial Field this Sunday.
