Last week, a hacking group known as the Crimson Collective claimed to have infiltrated Nintendo’s systems and accessed a vast amount of private data. These allegations sparked concern among fans and industry watchers alike.
In response, Nintendo has conducted an internal investigation into the purported breach. According to an official statement provided to Japanese publication The Sankei Shimbun, while some servers hosting Nintendo’s webpages may have been defaced, there is no evidence that personal or business data were compromised.
Nintendo reassured its fans that, following a thorough review, it found no indication that any sensitive business or user information was exposed during the incident. The company remains confident that its games and services remain secure.
The initial claim from the Crimson Collective surfaced on Twitter on October 11, 2025. The group shared a screenshot showing various folders labeled “production,” “staging,” and “dev,” implying access to Nintendo’s internal environments. Despite these claims, Nintendo maintains that nothing critical was leaked at this time.
