**Nepal and Oman Secure Spots in 2026 ICC Men’s T20 World Cup**

Nepal and Oman have officially qualified for the 2026 ICC Men’s T20 World Cup, which will be co-hosted by India and Sri Lanka. Both teams secured their places during the Super Six stage of the Asia-EAP Regional Final held in Al Amerat.
They will join a star-studded lineup featuring host nations India and Sri Lanka, as well as Afghanistan, Australia, Bangladesh, England, South Africa, the United States, West Indies, Ireland, New Zealand, Pakistan, Canada, and Italy at the much-anticipated tournament.
**Qualification Details**
Nepal and Oman confirmed their World Cup berths following a crucial victory by the UAE over Samoa by 77 runs. This result strengthened the UAE’s position in the standings and effectively sealed the qualification of Nepal and Oman.
A total of three teams from the six competing sides in this qualifier will earn spots in the 20-team World Cup scheduled from February 6 to March 7, 2026. This marks only the second edition of the tournament to feature the expanded 20-team format, first introduced in 2024.
**Past Performances**
Both Nepal and Oman will be appearing in their third ICC T20 World Cup. Oman previously qualified in 2016 and 2024, while Nepal earned their spots in 2014 and 2024. Currently, both teams are leading their respective groups during the Super Six stage, showcasing strong performances throughout the competition.
**The Road Ahead**
With UAE’s recent victory, they have moved to four points in the group standings and are eyeing the final World Cup slot. Japan poses a significant threat to UAE’s qualification hopes, holding two games in hand — including a direct clash with UAE. Should Japan win both of their remaining matches in the next few days, they could overtake the UAE and claim the last spot.
