Final Fantasy 14 is removing class & level restrictions on glamour

Glamours have long provided a fun and creative way for Final Fantasy 14 players to express themselves. By allowing players to overlay the appearance of desired armor onto their actual gear, the glamour system lets users customize their look without sacrificing stats. However, one notable restriction in this system is set to be removed in the upcoming December update.

Square Enix revealed this exciting change in a recent Letter from the Producer video. In Patch 7.4, which is scheduled to launch on all platforms in mid-December, glamours will no longer be limited by level or job/class. This means that players will soon be able to use any glamours they want on their armor, regardless of the original item’s level or the player’s current job.

Previously, glamours came with some restrictions. For example, if you had a Lancer glamour for a chest plate, you couldn’t equip it on a Dark Knight’s armor. These kinds of limitations will be removed, giving players much more freedom to mix and match their favorite looks. Level restrictions will also no longer be a barrier.

The only exception to this change concerns weapons. Due to mechanical and visual reasons, weapons will still have some restrictions to prevent them from looking out of place or breaking gameplay balance.

This upcoming update is fantastic news for fashion-forward Final Fantasy 14 players, adding even more customization freedom. Patch 7.4 is shaping up to be a major update, especially following the recent collaboration event that brought Monster Hunter Wilds items, characters, cosmetics, and the formidable Arkveld dragon into the game.

All in all, Final Fantasy 14 Patch 7.4 is definitely something for fans to look forward to this December!
