The next big update for the space MMORPG **EVE Online** has been officially announced. Titled **EVE Online: Catalyst**, this expansion is set to launch on **November 18, 2025**, bringing a major focus on mining and shaping the game’s next big chapter.
One of the key highlights of **Catalyst** is the introduction of a mysterious new ore called **Prismaticite**. This erratic material will add fresh challenges and opportunities for miners across the EVE universe as players work to extract and utilize it.
In addition to new resources, the expansion introduces a new defensive mining ship called the **Pioneer**. Positioned as a middle ground between mining frigates and mining barges, the Pioneer offers a balanced combination of defense, collection, and hauling capabilities. New capsuleers will be able to access this ship early in their journey, while Omega players can extensively upgrade it to suit their playstyle.
Beyond ships and resources, **EVE Online: Catalyst** also brings an overhaul to the mining UI/UX. The update aims to streamline the entire process of harvesting, collection, and hauling, making the gameplay loop more intuitive and efficient.
CCP Games shared these details in a recent press release on the official EVE Online website, setting the stage for an exciting mining-focused expansion. With its launch just around the corner, pilots across New Eden have much to look forward to in November.
