**Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh): BJP Secretary Allegedly Attacked by Gurjar Community Members**
Sakun Sharma (55), secretary of BJP Bilkhirya Mandal, was allegedly attacked by members of the Gurjar community in Siddh Nagar Colony, under the jurisdiction of Sukhi Sewania police station, on Friday night. A video of the incident surfaced on Saturday, sparking widespread concern.
Sharma told the police that she had gone to the local Shiva temple for worship. While speaking on the phone, she was intercepted by the accused. She alleged that Brahmin residents were being prevented by members of the Gurjar community from entering the temple. According to her, the priest’s family had been beaten three days earlier over a similar issue.
She recounted, “On Friday evening, I went to the temple for puja. The accused verbally abused me and then attacked me when I protested. Later, when I was going to the police station with a youth from my community to file a complaint, accused Balram, Sunil, Anurag, Annu, and Geeta Gurjar surrounded and assaulted me.”
Rambabu Chaudhary, in-charge of Sukhi Sewania police station, confirmed that a case had been registered based on Sharma’s complaint. He mentioned that the incident appears to be a fallout of an old rivalry between the families involved. Further action will be taken following detailed investigations, he added.
