In a significant drug bust, a Bollywood supporting actor was arrested at Chennai Airport on Sunday for attempting to smuggle 3.5 kg of cocaine. The seized cocaine is estimated to be worth around ₹35 crore in the international market. The joint operation was conducted by Chennai Customs and the Directorate of Revenue Intelligence (DRI), reported the Times of India.

The actor, known for a minor role in Karan Johar’s *Student of the Year*, was stopped by air intelligence officials early Sunday morning upon his arrival from Singapore. During the inspection, customs officials discovered several plastic pouches containing white powder hidden inside a false compartment at the bottom of his trolley. A field test confirmed the substance as cocaine.
**Contradictory Statements**
During questioning, the actor claimed that he was merely a courier. He alleged that he received the trolley in Cambodia from unidentified individuals and was instructed to deliver it to someone at Chennai Airport. However, officials suspect the actor intended to smuggle the drugs further to major cities like Mumbai or Delhi, where organized drug syndicates are known to operate.
**Ongoing Investigation**
Authorities are currently probing the actor’s travel history to determine if he has been involved in any earlier drug smuggling incidents. Meanwhile, the DRI is intensifying its efforts to dismantle the larger network behind this operation.
This arrest marks the second major cocaine bust at Chennai Airport within two weeks. Earlier this month, officials recovered 5.6 kg of cocaine concealed inside Ferrero Rocher chocolate cans.
