Hollywood actor and musician Jaden Smith has been appointed as the first-ever artistic director for Christian Louboutin’s men’s line. At 27 years old, Smith will lead the creation of four collections annually, encompassing men’s shoes, leather goods, and accessories.
This new role marks a significant milestone for Smith, who has previously managed his own brand, MSFTSrep, and collaborated with sneaker label New Balance. However, this is his first time heading an entire line at a prestigious luxury fashion house.
**Why Jaden?**
Christian Louboutin, the 62-year-old founder of the iconic French brand, cited Smith’s creativity and fresh perspective as key reasons for the appointment. Speaking to *Le Figaro*, Louboutin shared, “One morning, I was swimming and I asked myself: ‘Why not Jaden?’” He believes Smith will bring “visibility” and a distinct voice from a younger generation to the men’s line, which accounts for a quarter of Louboutin’s revenue since its debut in 2008.

Describing the position as “one of the biggest honors” of his life, Jaden Smith opened up about the responsibility that comes with the role. Speaking with *WWD*, he said, “I feel a lot of pressure to be able to live up to everything that Christian has done for the house and also stepping into such a serious role.”
**Learning and Growth**
Louboutin acknowledged that while Smith may currently lack some technical expertise, his enthusiasm and passion are undeniable. “Today he lacks technique but he’s starting to learn,” Louboutin explained. He noted that Smith has already visited Italian factories as part of his hands-on learning process, emphasizing, “What you cannot learn is enthusiasm and taste and passion. All that, he has.”

Jaden Smith’s first collection as Christian Louboutin’s men’s artistic director is set to debut at Paris Fashion Week in January 2026. This appointment follows a six-year friendship between the two, which began with a chance meeting in Paris where they connected over their shared artistic vision.
