If Trump Wants Nobel Peace Prize, He Must End Gaza War, Says Macron

**Emmanuel Macron Urges Donald Trump to End Gaza War for Nobel Peace Prize**

French President Emmanuel Macron has called on US President Donald Trump to stop the ongoing war in Gaza if he wishes to receive the Nobel Peace Prize. Speaking from New York on Tuesday, Macron emphasized the unique influence the United States holds over the conflict.

“There is one person who can do something about it, and that is the US president. The reason he can do more than us is because we do not supply weapons that allow the war in Gaza to be waged. The United States of America does,” Macron told France’s BFM TV.

Earlier that day, during his speech to the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA), President Trump rejected efforts by Western allies to recognize a Palestinian state, describing such recognition as a reward for the militant group Hamas.

Reacting to Trump’s remarks, Macron said, “I see an American president who is involved, who reiterated this morning from the podium: I want peace. I have resolved seven conflicts, who wants the Nobel Peace Prize. The Nobel Peace Prize is only possible if you stop this conflict.”

According to Reuters, several countries, including Israel, Pakistan, and Cambodia, have nominated Trump for the Nobel Peace Prize, citing his role in brokering peace agreements and ceasefires. Trump himself has claimed he deserves the prestigious accolade, which has been awarded to four of his White House predecessors.

At the UNGA, Macron highlighted that the situation requires more than just a military solution. “Nobody forgets the seventh of October. But after almost two years of war, what is the result? Once again, they kill the top leaders of Hamas. It works. This is a great achievement, but at the same time, you have as many Hamas fighters as you had the first day. So it doesn’t work to dismantle Hamas,” he explained.

CNN reported Macron’s calls for the immediate release of all hostages, a ceasefire, humanitarian aid access to Gaza, and the stabilization of the enclave. Additionally, Macron referenced France’s recognition of a Palestinian state as part of a broader political perspective needed to resolve the conflict.

“We need a political perspective, and this is why we took this decision,” Macron said.

*By urging a ceasefire and political solution, Macron places responsibility on the US to leverage its influence to end the Gaza war, underscoring the multifaceted approach necessary for lasting peace.*
