A Delhi court has granted bail to Gaganpreet Kaur, the accused in a fatal BMW crash that resulted in the death of a senior Finance Ministry official. The Patiala House Court released her on a bail bond of ₹1 lakh, accompanied by two sureties.

The court has imposed several conditions on her bail, including the surrender of her passport and mandatory presence at every court hearing.

**Ambulance Scrutiny and Negligence Concerns**

The court raised critical questions about the ambulance that arrived at the accident site. Although the ambulance reached within seconds, it did not immediately transport the injured to a hospital. The court remarked, “What should be done with this ambulance? Are they not accused of the offense of death due to a negligent act?”

**Details of the Crash**

The accident took place near Dhaula Kuan when Gaganpreet Kaur’s BMW struck a motorcycle carrying Navjot Singh, Deputy Secretary in the Department of Economic Affairs, and his wife, Sandeep Kaur. Navjot Singh succumbed to his injuries, while his wife remains in critical condition.

Investigations revealed that the couple was taken to Nulife Hospital in North Delhi, approximately 19 kilometers from the site of the accident.

**Legal Proceedings and Charges**

Singh’s family has alleged that critical time was wasted as the victims were not rushed to the nearest hospital. Gaganpreet Kaur defended her decision by stating that she panicked after the accident and took the victims to the hospital she was familiar with.

Kaur is currently in judicial custody and has been charged with culpable homicide not amounting to murder, in addition to other offenses under the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita.

The case continues to unfold as the court examines all aspects concerning the incident and related negligence.
