MANILA, Philippines — Aleksandar Nikolov erupted with 29 points to send Bulgaria to the FIVB Volleyball Men’s World Championship semifinal for the first time in 19 years.
Down two sets, the Nikolov brothers and the Bulgarians never wavered, pulling off a stunning comeback against World No. 4 USA. The final score was 21-25, 19-25, 25-17, 25-22, 15-13.
